Every custom made theme eventually reaches the end of its life of exclusivity. But really, at a certain point in time a theme reaches the end of its shelf life, and isn’t as special to it’s creator anymore. Lucky for all of you, however, I’ve decided to pack this theme up and release it for free to every one out on the interwebs.
Not only did I decide to pack it up and release it, but I am releasing it in 5 exclusive fruitalicious colors, including a cool blue, lime green, smooth purple, bright orange, and of course the original pink you see here on Whalesalad right now.
Feel free to download the theme and give it a shot on your own blog! Inside the downloaded zip file is a README to help get you started.

Since it uses a background image, it’s useless. You could use two seperate divs. I’d mod it but… You know, I care about my time.
Could make its color selectable?

I agree with kelly, because of one minor design flaw, the entire design is crap…

Great theme, but why did you shift the content to the right?
I also like that it uses a background image instead of extra markup, but you should set the background color of the body to black. Otherwise visitors, who have disabled images in their browser, cannot read anything.

When I add a page, it’s not showing in the pages nav list, very strange!

@ Chris M: You have to manually edit sidebar.php, I decided against an automatic menu.
Love your theme so much, I really want it to work on my site! :( The background isn’t showing and etc etc. Any idea why?
Oh never mind, figured it out! Just had to remove /wp-content/themes/elixir/ from this part - background: url(/wp-content/themes/elixir/img/bg.png).

what do you think about this?
In order for this to work, you can do this:
Replace
»with»in the themes header.php (wp-content/themes/elixir-blue/) for instance.Then remove
/wp-content/themes/elixir_blue/from allbackground: url(...)in said themes style.css (wp-content/themes/elixir-blue/style.css)That ought to do it for you :)
That should be: replace
<?php bloginfo('name'); ?><?php if ( !(is_404()) && (is_single()) or (is_page()) or (is_archive()) ) { ?> » <?php wp_title(''); ?><? } ?>with<?php bloginfo('name'); ?> » <?php wp_title(''); ?>in the themes header.php (wp-content/themes/elixir-blue/header.php).Crossing my fingers for it to work this time :)

Vince: You need to install the time-since plugin. It’s included in the zip file you downloaded.
I’m having the same error as Vince:

I checked for a time-since plugin, but don’t have one. Help? Email: jes@chirky.com
Nevermind. Found the time-since plugin in the blue theme.
NOTE to other readers: the Original Pink theme does not currently have the time-since plugin in its folder.
Why when I go to mydomain.com/archives does it come up saying ”

nice them. I’m using it now. But the only problem i have is… why does the smilies is on the middle?
I need help. I’m setting up my wordpress blog locally on my mac, and put the themes in the theme directory, however when I activate the theme, nothing is displayed for any page of the blog. No error message, no nothing. Just a blank page.
Any thoughts? Other themes work no problems.

Hi Michael! I really like this theme, but I need to ask: is there a way to insert a custom logo? I’d like to use Elixir on Inforum, but I don’t want to remove my logo: it’s quite important… :-)
For anyone getting “PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in path/to/this/theme/header.php on line 23″ the problem is on line 8. Just change it to and you should be good to go.
replace <? } ?> on line 8 with <?php } ?>.

ok.. i got the sidebar to the left. You need to edit the css.. set the content float to right and sidebar float to left and edit the content_bg

is there a possible way where we can get an updated version of your layout? its a hassle if we do read your revisions. i realliy like your theme but isnt it tiring to have to check up on it whenever there is a glitch.

First of all thank you very much for making this theme open source. I am using it on my blog right now, and I’ve been making a few colour tweaks here and there.
I’m using this theme in two of my blogs, they are great.
I’ve just modified the template to work with widgets, and it works ok. If you want I can send you my modified files.
